So I just realized that it has been over two months since I last put up an entry and a lot of things have happened since I have been back from sea. Just to recap: I got back from sea on 30Sep and have been very busy these last three months.

I got remarried on 20Nov to the beautiful Beverly Marie Chapman. The happiest day of my life. I had the whole family there. Well, most of her family and none of mine. They were there in spirit though because we had who we could on the  phone and listening. It made me feel better to know that they were “there” and I know that it made them happy. We found out a week later that she was pregnant. The best news I have heard in forever. So I am going to be a daddy in the summertime and we have our first doctors appointment on Wednesday. I am assuming that she is getting the full workup and I plan on being there for a while. I got some expectant father books for Christmas, so I am hoping they will help me through these next seven months at least.

Good news is this though, I will be present for the birth of my child and I am very excited for that. I will get ten days off to help her out and get us back into a routine before I got out to sea for the second time next year. I am leaving again sometime in March and I’ll be back in May with a short in-port stint in June through July and I will be going back out again sometime in August. Not really the best schedule but hey this is what I do. I am re-enlisting in the time because if I don’t June 15th is my final day and I have a new baby and two others to support so I need to stay in for them. I also think my mom and dad are going to be up here for the birth of their first grandbaby. I want my uncles to be up here too but I don’t know if they will though. I’m trying to get everyone from my side of the family up here so that they can experience some fun up here in Washington. I am planning on fighting for orders to King’s Bay Georgia for a shore duty and possibly another sea duty if I can make 2nd by the end of my next 3 years.
